The members of SAMTA reside throughout the far southwest side—from Morris to the west, Kankakee to the south, Matteson to the east and Orland Park to the north. Our teachers offer instruction in piano, violin, flute, harp, voice, composition, theory and music history.

Our membership includes independent home teachers, joint studios, and elementary, high school and college faculty—a wonderfully diverse group. We offer mentorship and encouragement, always seeking to grow in skill and understanding.

All members of SAMTA are part of our larger state and national affiliates: Illinois State Music Teachers Association (ISMTA) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
